Clarity Guide ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

Clarity Guide is operated as a sole trader / small business based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

We do not collect your name, phone number, or any government identity documents. We do not require you to create an account.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Guide generation: Your intake answers are passed to an AI language model (Claude by Anthropic) to produce your personalised PDF guide. Answers are not stored beyond what is needed to generate and deliver your guide.
• Email delivery: Your email address is used to send you your guide PDF via Resend (our email delivery provider).
• Order records: We retain a record of your order (email, tier, and a reference to your intake data) in our secure database for up to 2 years for customer support purposes.
• No marketing: We will not send you marketing emails without your explicit consent. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

• Contract performance — processing your intake answers and email to deliver the guide you purchased.
• Legitimate interests — retaining minimal order records for customer support and fraud prevention.

6. Data Retention

• Order records (email + order reference): retained for up to 2 years, then deleted.
• Intake answers: retained only as long as necessary to deliver and support your order.
• Server logs: automatically overwritten after 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification of inaccurate data
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data
• Restriction of processing in certain circumstances
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests

8. Cookies

This website uses only essential session functionality. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics). No cookie consent banner is required.

9. Security

Your data is stored on a password-protected server with encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers.

10. Children

This service is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
